Introduction:

The IT curriculum adopts a spiral approach to ensure that topics and or applications are covered at appropriate levels and in increasing depths to consolidate and further develop knowledge, skills and attitudes. From the lower secondary level (S1-S3), the programmes are designed to be delivered as a separate subject providing the content that are meaningful and relevant for the learners. These lay the foundations in content and skills for the work at the secondary level (S4, S5).

Learning by doing has a central place in the IT curriculum. Learners are given the opportunities to carry out practical tasks and investigations. The curriculum requires that the IT skills be used in the contexts that are grounded in real-world or work experiences so as to develop in the learners the ability to work independently and as part of a team to apply IT tools and skills appropriately to solve problems.
